I also can't believe there's no one racing XFG-XRG at all, they're still my favorite cars, and there aren't ever ANY servers racing them that actually have people in them, it's sad

One of the mods moved it, since it was basically a threadjack. TAA wanted to know about Jettas/Boras, not SRT-4s

Quote from Forbin :I'd been looking for a nice single-player experience a few months back and ended up buying GTR2. I knew it wasn't going to be quite as good as LFS, but I didn't quite prepare myself for just how huge the difference was. I really tried hard to like it but a half-hour to an hour later, it got deleted off my hard drive.

Same exact story as me..

Quote from wheel4hummer :Turn off the stability control in the Evo, and good luck!

And you've driven how many Evos? All I've ever heard from anyone that's ever driven one is that they're one of the most neutral handling and throttle adjustable production cars on the market..

I don't have one, but I'd love the 6DOF. It'd be great to be able to look around the huge A-pillars in the FXR, since they always seem to be right where the apex of the corner is, making the apex hard to spot.

There's a rather large GTR2 thread on here somewhere, not sure what's it's called anymore though. Basically, if you're looking for an LFS-like experience, don't. They physics feel horrible, as does the Force Feedback. The graphics aren't that amazing, but you can at least drive real cars on real tracks if you like that sort of stuff.

I dunno, I guess if you can pick it up super cheap, then give it a try, I wouldn't pay more than maybe $10 for it though.

If you want an R32, just get an R32, most likely less expensive than buying a car and then swapping the 3.2 VR6 in. Even better, just buy a Bora/GTI VR6, it's the same exact engine, just minus about 40hp, again, it'd probably be less expensive to go forced induction on a 2.8L VR6 than buy an R32, you don't get the AWD though.

The R32 looks cool, but it's insanely heavy, my car is only .1 second slower to 100km/h, simply because the R32 weighs 600 lbs more.

Isn't the SRT-4 making more like 230 at the crank? Unless you're talking modified, at which point the sky's the limit on those things :P

The SRT-4 is great, shame it's not Neon based anymore, the new Caliber is so ugly.

All that being said though, I still stand behind a VW TDI for a daily driver that you don't have to shift anytime you want to go somewhere.

Quote from the_angry_angel :Either the mk4 or 5, I've specificially got a mk5 picked out but I'm open to either. Total ly agree with you on the interiors, etc. and thank you for your comments on the engine - just what I hoped to hear

I've heard many good things about the 1.9 TDI, including it's tuning potential, if you're in to that sort of thing. Apparently, getting 200bhp isn't too difficult, with much more than that possible.

The engine is massively torquey too, it actually feels faster than my 2.8L VR6 off the line, and it certainly gets better fuel economy. The U.S. spec MK4 diesel gets around 45mpg on the highway, which works out to about 5.2L/100km, so, pretty good.

I also happen to really like the way the Bora/Jetta look, so that's a plus too. I'm interested to see how things work out. Keep us posted

Would you be looking at a MK4 or a MK5 Bora TDI? I've driven both, and they're both excellent cars. I love VW interiors, and both the MK4 and the MK5 have really nice ones. The TDI is a very nice engine, too, and is pretty easy on gas. I'd go for it, but I own a MK4, so I might be a little bit biased.

Quote from thisnameistaken :My favourite meat by far is the humble crab (any variety - I've never eaten a bland-tasting crab). I also really like the clams you yanks get on your eastern coast.

I'm in Minnesota right now, but my girlfriend is from the east coast, and I'm planning on moving there. Crabs are amazingly good, I think they're fun to pick too, just fun to eat in general, and they taste soooo good.

No regrets about my username, although the 1996 Viper GTS isn't my favorite car anymore. I've had it since 1999 or so, though, so I don't even really think of 96 GTS as the car, it's just, me.

I like naps every once in a while. I dunno if it qualifies as a nap, but I sleep during the day if I work an overnight shift at work. I do just take normal naps sometimes too, though.

Quote from glyphon :i wasn't all that keen on it before i got it, but i knew that i wanted a wheel, and wanted actual ffb and not just rumble, so it was the only choice, and i have to say, for the most part i've been happy with it.

its contoured so that it rests on your lap while playing, but really it needs to be clamped down. i'm still working on that part because i need to find a solution that has a high WAF (wife acceptance factor)

I just put mine on a folding card table, and sit with my desk chair behind it, it works pretty well, and it's pretty cheap.

Interesting, after launching the program a couple more times, it's all fine on the font front. I just have to slide the window up a little bit to get the bottom line in, but it works okay.

An option to fullscreen the window would be pretty nice, I think. Either that or just a simple scrollbar along the side would be good too. But I'm sure these are things you've thought of already.

Excellent program by the way

Hey Ben.
Great program, very informative and useful, but is there any way you could make it usable for people running 1024x768? I'm running that resolution, and I can't fit the whole setup analyzer window on my screen, and it's not resizable. I dunno if this is just a bug with my version, bu it'd be nice if it could be resized
